about

Mataura Ensign, 26 April 1915: Mr Angus Cameron, of Ferndale, who has joined the Expeditionary Force, was entertained prior to his departure at the residence of Mr Kenneth McKay.... There was a large gathering of friends present and the evening was spent in playing cards and draughts, while Mr Alex. Cameron played several bagpipe selections.... Mr Bristow said that anyone who visited the Camerons always got a real good old Highland welcome. A most enjoyable evening was brought to a close by singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” and the National Anthem, and hearty cheers were given for Mr Cameron.
