about

Otago Daily Times, 23 September 1891: The police yesterday received information that Peter Dow, a resident of Outram, was missing. He left a letter for his wife, in which he stated that when it reached her hands he would be dead, and no search should be made for his body as it would never be found. No cause can be assigned for his disappearance. Tuapeka Times, 26 September 1891: Peter Dow, was arrested at Palmerston on Wednesday on suspicion of lunacy and was brought to Dunedin. At the time of his arrest he was on the express train for the north and had a ticket for Christchurch in his possession. Evening Star, 19 October 1891: Peter Dow, of Outram, farmer, was adjudicated a bankrupt on the petition of the Bank of New Zealand.
